Born in Setegaya, Tokyo in 1925. 1949, Graduated from Department of Physics, Faculty of Science at the Tohoku-University. After which, he had worked at the General Affairs Bureau of National Personnel Authority. 1952, joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. He put his effort in designing the first ergonomic furniture of Japan. He created "YANO-TOSHIO DESIGN LABO" in 1970.
